THE ROAD HOME
March 2006 NATIONAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONFERENCE ON RETURNING VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES
NTTV President, Donna Jacobs was selected by Santa Cruz County Mental Health Services Advisory Board (Mental Health and Substance Abuse) to receive a scholarship to attend the conference March 16-18 in Washington, D.C. Many nationally known speakers were featured at the conference as well as many informative workshops relating to returning veterans issues.
SWEATS FOR VETS May 2006
Organized a drive to collect sweat pants for patients at the Palo Alto Veterans Admin. Hospital Head Trauma/Spinal Care Unit. With the help of Santa Cruz area firefighters, Second Harvest Food Bank, radio stations KSCO, KPIG and KUSP, over 200 pair of sweat pants were donated. NTTV delivered these directly to the patients along with pizza and soda. Miss Santa Cruz County also attended, which gave the patients a real boost.
SECOND ANNUAL ARMED FORCES DAY PARADE May 2006
Successfully organized and sponsored the second parade to honor our veterans, active duty and their families. Many local veterans, businesses and public service agencies participated. NTTV sponsored a spaghetti feed at the Veterans Memorial Building following the parade.
FLAG DAY CELEBRATION June 2006
NTTV was invited to attend this event for the second year. Once again sponsored by the Capitola Mall and KSCO radio, this was a great day of patriotism and togetherness for veterans, active duty and family.
RADIO SHOW KSCO June 2006
The Zwerling family, owners of KSCO radio, offered to sponsor a weekly radio program on veterans issues. President Donna Jacobs hosts the program Mondays at 7: 1 0 a.m. giving updates on current veterans issues.
VISIT TO STATE CAPITOL August 2006
Board members o f NTTV met with the State of Calif. Secretary of Veterans Affairs to discuss the possibility of creating a long term care facility for severely injured veterans returning from the Middle East.

Armed Forces Day Parade 2005
Successfully organized and sponsored the First Annual Armed Forces Day Parade in downtown Santa Cruz. The first of its kind in nearly 40 years, the parade honored America's veterans and families with nearly 130 entries and over 2,000 spectators.
Flag Day Celebration 2005
Sponsored by the Capitola Mall and KSCO radio, this was an afternoon to honor our country, flag, veterans and active duty service personnel. Members of NTTV participated in a live radio broadcast from the event.
Veteran's Service Forum August 2005
Sponsored by Congressman Sam Farr, this event featured speakers from various veterans service organizations and information tables detailing services and benefits available to veterans. Representatives from the Veterans Service Center, Capitola, Ca. attended as well as organizations assisting with housing and employment. NTTV set up an information table and President Donna Jacobs spoke.

Sweats For Vets
Not This Time Vets in co-operation with Santa Cruz area fire fighters, will be collecting NEW sweat pants to take to the patients at the head trauma unit at the VA hospital Palo Alto.
Drop off sweat pants at the following locations through the month of May:
- Santa Cruz Fire Dist. Adm. bldg. 230 Walnut Ave. Santa Cruz,
- All Santa Cruz area fire stations, including Capitola & Soquel
- All San Lorenzo Valley fire stations
- Aptos/La Selva fire station
